The Swan Food Project, Worcester
New volunteers to help look after the swans on the Severn in Worcester are always welcome. The Swan Food Project undertakes various tasks and organises maintenance mornings on the third Wednesday of each month. Areas used by the swans are trimmed back and cleaned up before they are fed at 12.30pm.
'People are very welcome to turn up on the day, but its helpful if they can get in touch first' says Marilyn McCarthy. 'As well as the working parties we need volunteers for other tasks including regular feeding and the filling of our food bags,' The bags of swan food are on sale at various places around Worcester and money raised goes towards the work of keeping the swans healthy.
