St James the Great Church in Colwall
We are Church of England parishes in the diocese of Hereford.
The Colwall parish church is St James the Great, found about a mile outside the centre of the village, down Mill Lane (past the village hall). The parish church of the village of Coddington is All Saints, a further two or three miles away. The two parishes form the benefice of Colwall with Upper Colwall and Coddington, in the deanery of Ledbury. Both churches have the same rector and we operate the services together.
We would like to welcome everyone to our churches, to join in a service, or simply to enjoy their stillness during the day.
Directions
Approaching from Malvern, follow the signs to Colwall along the B4218 and by bicycle or in a small vehicle, immediately after the 30mph sign turn right down Old Church Road, signposted Mathon and Cradley, then ignore further turnings and carry on for a mile until you come to a T-junction. Turn right and the church is about 200 yards down the lane. The car park is just beyond the church. Large vehicles, especially coaches, should avoid Old Church Road and take Mill lane: continue through the village and turn right into Mill Lane before the railway bridge (see below).
Approaching from Ledbury, turn left off the A449 along the B4218, signposted Colwall, and in the village turn left down Mill Lane immediately after the railway bridge, signposted Colwall church and Village Hall. Carry on down Mill lane for a mile until the church comes into view.
For sat-nav users, the grid reference of St James is SO 739423, post code WR13 6HE.
