English Symphony Orchestra
English Symphony Orchestra
The English Symphony Orchestra/English String Orchestra perform throughout the UK including historic Midlands venues in Cheltenham, Hereford, Malvern and Worcester, and tours to Bristol and London. Family concerts and orchestra courses provide valuable opportunities for young musicians, and concerts in care homes improve quality of lives.
The Worcestershire-based orchestra, the ‘International Orchestra of Elgar Country’, is an ensemble that has become synonymous with artistic excellence, innovative and visionary programming, distinctive commissioning, ground-breaking recording, a welcoming and immersive concert experience, transformative youth programmes and service to the community. With the appointment of Kenneth Woods as Principal Conductor and Artistic Director in 2013, the orchestra has become a major force in British musical life.
