1st Upton upon Severn Scout Group
1st Upton upon Severn Scout Group are part of the Malvern District Scouts. We have been operating for over 15 years and have three enthusiastically led well-attended Beavers, Cubs and Scouts sections involving over 60 children. We plan and organise fun, structured weekly activities throughout the year, examples are illustrated in the photos below. We also take the children on overnight camps and outings during the year.
The Scout Group is located in Upton Upon Severn in a dedicated scout headquarters hut, in which we hold our Beaver, Cub and Scout meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the year.
The Scouts is a uniform based organisation and is much more than a 'youth club'; as such we expect certain behaviours and standards from the children. Being a scout confers life-long membership, where children can join from 6 years old and continue to be involved throughout their lives. A number of our leaders have been involved in scouting for many years and have continued in, or returned to, scouting.
All members, young or old, make a promise when they are invested, which they are encouraged to keep. They are persuaded to follow a code of conduct that emphasizes friendship, cooperation and mutual support. We run three scout sections, all expertly and enthusiastically led by trained adult volunteers
